Santa David Jordan
It was in Church during the fall of 2015 that the Organist suggested I would make a wonderful Santa. I must admit that I was surprised by the comment but flattered as well. Since I was a little boy, I always looked forward to and enjoyed Christmas, especially visits with Santa.
I thought long and hard about taking on the challenge of being the person everyone, young and old, looked towards to provide that spark of joy and kindness that embodied "Merry Christmas" and helped them celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. This could not be a hat, (or beard) that would be able to be placed aside during the better part of the year and only taken out to be shown during the Christmas season. It would have to become a way of life that not only held true to the history of St. Nickolas of Myra in Lycia but celebrated the birth Jesus, our Savior.
So, I am on this journey, this new adventure, expanding on my faith as a Christian, continually learning more about St. Nick and how to blend all this together to share the wonder of Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus with all I meet.
Merry Christmas,
Santa David Jordan
